Popovici Nitu & Asociatii awarded twice at the Lawyers’ Gala
Popovici Nițu & Asociații law firm was awarded by Ziarul Financiar at the Lawyers’ Gala held on May 29, 2012 at the Radisson Hotel in Bucharest.
The Lawyers’ Gala brought together the most important business lawyers for a unique event organised this year for the fourth time, during which awards were granted for the best results obtained by law firms in 2011.
Popovici Nițu & Asociații was nominated in four categories:
- Agro and FMCG (assisting Ameropa Holding on the acquisition of Azomureş);
- Banks, Insurances, Pension Funds (assisting SIF Banat-Crişana on the sale of 6% share stake in BCR);
- Real Estate (assisting Auchan/Immochan Imobiliare on the acquisition of several real estate properties);
- Medical Services (assisting Fresenius on the acquisition of the Renamed companies).
The award for the Largest AGRO/FMCG Deal of 2011 was granted to Popovici Nițu & Asociații for assisting the Swiss group Ameropa in taking over the largest fertilizer manufacturer in Romania, Azomureş Târgu Mureş.
“I would like to thank the organizers for this award and for their constant interest in monitoring the Romanian business advisory market. I would also like to thank my team which, for the approximately 7 months that this deal lasted, made extraordinary efforts in order to make this deal possible. The extraneity elements (the takeover of the control over the assets fully located on the Romanian territory was accomplished by taking over certain corporate vehicles registered in the United States) and the difficulty to accommodate the position of a heterogeneous group of sellers were the main elements in which the complexity and beauty of this deal consisted”, states Bogdan C. Popovici Nițu & Asociații was also awarded for the Largest Deal in Banks, Insurances, Pension Funds for assisting SIF Banat-Crişana on the sale of 6% share stake in BCR.
