Location: Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest

The recent adoption of competition law statutes marks a significant development to the regional business community. Merger control, the application of competition law to unilateral conduct such as distribution agreements, competition issues in intellectual property rights, and state activities in the economy create important challenges in the enforcement of competition law in these emerging markets for policymakers, corporations, law firms and economic consultancies. A number of panels and roundtables will examine these issues, composed by the international and local leaders of the competition/regulatory law and M&A practice.

The conference provides an unparalleled overview of the most important areas of competition law practice, of particular interest for the local competition community.

The ambition of the conference is to facilitate an in-depth discussion of local competition law experiences between government officials, academics and the private bar from these jurisdictions and international experts. We aim to engage the participants in an advanced discussion of issues that are of concern for regional antitrust as well as for local competition law enforcement.
